Legend has it that Charlemagne founded Andorra in 805 in recognition for the help given by its inhabitants fighting the Saracens.
Andorra has been an independent geographical, political and human entity for over ten centuries and is currently one of the smallest states in Europe.
Its splendid location, high in the mountains between France and Spain, has made it a commercial and cultural crossroads within the Mediterranean countries, as is demonstrated by the eleven million tourists who visit it annually. Over the last few years, the principality has seen widespread economic and social expansion, and the constitution of 1993 describes it as a legal, democratic and social state.
Its wide range of sporting, leisure and cultural activities, as well as its countryside, cuisine and Romanesque art have managed to attract numerous kinds of tourists who return to this small principality in the Pyrenees year after year.

The forest is in the village of Segudet in the Parish of Ordino, and is one of most idyllic places in the Principality of Andorra.

This outdoor complex has brand new facilities situated within the natural local environment.  Here you can find two 'via ferratas', climbing routes laid out on rocky outcrops equipped with cables, iron hand and footholds, and different elements that allow climbers to practice in safety, and also a treetop circuit where you can negotiate suspension bridges, zip-lines, rope bridges, and a via ferrata section.

Things to do

Andorra's Iron Trail

The Iron Trail is a tour of the culture and environment of the Valls del Nord's iron-working heritage. The trail aims to give the general public a better understanding of one of the most important economic activities that shaped Andorra from the early 17th century until the end of the 19th century - the mines, coal pits, and iron and steel working industry.

The Romanesque Trail

The Romanesque Trail through the Valls del Nord is extremely interesting and surprising: You can go back in time and discover an authentic Romanesque world in the small churches and villages, which still look the same today as they did many years ago. To enjoy the best Romanesque churches in the area we recommend a route that leaves from Escaldes - Engordany and heads towards La Massana, passing over a medieval bridge and the church of Sant Antonia de la Grella.
